Joe Johnston:
Experienced Technology Leader

[Joe Johnston]

The challenges of bringing a software product to market may change over time, but thew fundamentals of creating a great product remain the same. Getting the core architecture of your product right can be the difference between an early, profitable exit for your company and watching your competitors succeed without you.

Eschewing "voodoo," the best technical decisions are based on metrics generated by the product itself. Whether your product is a SaaS or traditional desktop application, getting the numbers generated by real usage is the key to correct optimization, usability enhancements and even pricing.

I know technology and business. As the technical lead for CS Information Technologies, I designed and implemented version 2 of their core LAMP stack SaaS product. At Leostream, I helped launch the core Virtualization Controller product (a LAMP stack virtual appliance) for Virtual Server and VMWare products, create the Java Connect client and provided on-site support for Leostream's biggest customers. I have written for O'Reilly Media, IBM and other online publishers about web technology including web services, web templating technologies, single sign-on architectures and more. I also taught an introductory course on programming with Perl to bioinformatics students at Northeastern university.

Whether you need a consultant to architect your n-tiered application or a LAMP developer to bang out key features for your existing application, I can bring my proven track record to your project.
